Kling & Freitag helps Wakestock turn ten

test 4 August 2009

Moby and Dizzee Rascal were among the performers at this year’s Wakestock festival in Abersoch, Wales, reports PSN-e. The festival’s long-term technical services provider VME Voice Music and Effects was again involved in an event that incorporated three stages – Open Air, XFM Misadventures and Relentless Live.

VME – which provides everything from generator fuel to speakers, lighting and more – used Kling & Freitag speakers exclusively across all three stages. The system on the Open Air main stage featured 16 ACCESS cabinets flown either side of the stage and underpinned by a total of 22 ACCESS B12 subs. Meanwhile, on the XFM Misadventures stage, the set-up incorporated 24 SEQUENZA 10 N/W line array elements, eight SEQUENZA 10 B bass cabinets and four ACCESS B10 18" subs. Finally, on the smallest stage, VME provided Kling & Freitag’s Line 212 system and SW215E bass units.

The fold-back monitors were Kling & Freitag CA 1515-6s, run in pairs on each stage. Amplification was entirely Lab.gruppen.

VME’s sales & market manager, Ben Hyman, tells PSN-e: "VME has made a commitment to the Kling & Freitag brand throughout the entire Wakestock Festival. There is a model of cabinet that fulfils every requirement for each stage, each one performing flawlessly. Visiting engineers and artists are highly complementary of the systems in use, which is why we have used Kling & Freitag for the last nine years at the festival, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future."
