A party at Martin Audio HQ – and an afterparty at a local pub – marked the retirement of long-serving Martin Audio EMEA account manager Martin Kelly, who left the British company at the end of July.

Kelly (pictured with his Martin Audio-branded retirement cake) had been with Martin Audio for 23 years, and was described by the speaker manufacturer as a “man [who] has been one of the company’s most ardent evangelists”.

An “informal gathering” took place in the afternoon at Martin Audio’s High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, headquarters, with Kelly being presented with “an iPad, a retirement survival kit and a trip down memory lane – courtesy of tales from colleagues and a photographic montage from across the years”. This was followed by surprise appearances from a number of guests – including many of Kelly’s customers who had flown in especially – and a “long night at the local hostelry”, which included “yet more surprise guests, and a performance of classic hits from Anzollo, a band made up from Martin Audio employees past and present”.

Roland Morcom replaces Kelly as EMEA account manager (sharing Martin Audio’s customers in EMEA with other recent appointment Andy Weingartner), while new APAC account manager Andy Duffield will help to build the company’s presence in Australasia and the far east.
