Josh Graham joins LMC Audio in technical sales role2 February 2016
LMC Birmingham has recruited Josh Graham to the position of technical sales.
Graham’s career in sound engineering began at the age of 12, helping his father engineer the sound at his church. He was also a keen cyclist, starting work at an independent bike shop when he was fourteen.
“I stayed in the cycling industry and continued to work as a sound engineer alongside this,” he comments, “working in a local theatre at first and then going on to do more freelance work at the age of 17. Later, I started working at a nightclub in Stafford and then went on to engineer for Faces nightclub in Wolverhampton where I was fortunate enough to work with some well-known artists and DJs including Pendulum, MistaJam, Sigma, Kano, Zane Lowe, Katy B, Tinie Tempah and Chase ‘n’ Status.
Whilst working in cycle retail, Graham had the opportunity to take on a lot of the marketing for the independent store, including digital media and branding, adding more skills to his portfolio and developing his understanding of sales and marketing within the context of an independent brand.
With his background in retail and audio engineering, Graham looks forward to applying the combination of technical and sales skills that he has gained over the years to the role.
“The key thing with retail is that it teaches you how to speak to and interact with many different people on a daily basis, which is useful at LMC. You’re not just a voice on the end of the phone so it enables you to be more than just a voice delivering a price when talking to our customers.”
Commenting on Graham’s addition to the sales team, James Lawford, sales manager at LMC Birmingham says, “Josh’s customer service experience and consultative approach to enquiries has already made an impact with customers here in the Birmingham office, and we look forward to further integrating his skills and personality into the LMC team as a whole”.
