JBL and Community line up new launches for Winter NAMM

test 9 January 2007

US: Winter NAMM – which takes place in Anaheim, California between the 18th and 21st of this month – is to play host to a considerable number of new product launches, reports David Davies.

Among them are JBL’s new and improved Control 1 Pro two-way compact loudspeaker, which has been re-engineered to provide a smoother frequency response and broader coverage for a variety of near-field applications, and SLS’s 8290 multipurpose portable PA speaker.

Community is also set to introduce a new loudspeaker offer – SONUS. The range is said to consist of “professionally featured portable linear-response loudspeaker systems designed to meet the needs of the working musician”.

It’s the new Cardoid version of the FlashMic that is likely to dominate HHB Communications’ Winter NAMM presence. The launch follows the popularity of the HHB Flash Mic with broadcasters, including the BBC and WDR, across Europe.

Radial Engineering, meanwhile, is to showcase JDX – a guitar amp direct box with cabinet emulation – and a brand of “high-end studio gear” known as Forest Audio. Named in honour of William Deforest, the new line gets underway with the Q6 counter-coil equalizer.

Roger Nichols Digital (introducing the Detailer stereo mastering tool or final mix plug-in for DAWs) and Ultrasone (exhibiting its new handmade Edition 9 headphones) will also be drawing attention to their latest developments.

NAMM spokesperson Kymberly Drake tells PSN-e: “We anticipate another strong gathering of the international music products industry full of great product introductions from more than 1,400 exhibiting companies, informative NAMM University sessions and plenty of those ‘you should’ve seen it’ moments that could only happen at the NAMM Show.”
