ISE adds nearly 6,000 visitors at 2008 event

test 12 February 2008

NETHERLANDS: The 2008 instalment of Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) recorded an impressive total attendance of 22,199, compared to 16,300 last year. All professional AV sectors were well-represented at an event that saw a number of new or recent audio products in the spotlight, among them items from Community Professional, Meyer Sound and D.A.S. Audio, writes David Davies.

A significant rise in attendance from vertical markets (30%, against 15% last year) rather than the core area of AV contractors was one of the factors cited by organisers in explaining the dramatic growth of the event.

“It’s really been phenomenal growth for us,” remarked Integrated Systems Events’ managing director, Mike Blackman (pictured), during the show. “We see it as a reflection of the industry.”

Taking place at the RAI centre in Amsterdam from January 29th to 31st, ISE 2008 hosted a grand total of 481 exhibiting companies, compared to 363 last year. Exhibition space totalled 18,600 net square metres, up from 11,500 in 2007.

New or recent audio products on display included the latest addition to Spanish manufacturer D.A.S. Audio’s Variant Installation Array range, the Variant 112A powered compact array system; from Meyer Sound, the MM-4XP, the self-powered version of the MM-4 miniature wide-range loudspeaker; and from Community Professional – making its ISE debut in its 40th year as a going concern – a new addition to the iBox series in the form of i2W8, a two-way, full-range loudspeaker system.

ISE will return to the RAI centre again in 2009, when it is due to take place from February 3rd to 5th.
