InnovaSON names Camco as its new distributor in Germany13 March 2007
FRANCE: Console manufacturer InnovaSON has confirmed the appointment – effective from 1st March – of power amplifier manufacturer Camco to distribute its products in Germany. “[The Camco team] is very dynamic and I think they can make a lot of progress in Germany with our products in the coming months,” InnovaSON’s Xavier Pion tells David Davies.
Camco’s live sound focus and its eschewing of the conventional distributor model were pivotal factors behind InnovaSON’s decision. “Camco is not a classical distributor – they are not going to collect brands,” says Pion, who is InnovaSON’s sales and marketing director. “To have another brand in their range is a very important thing for them.”
Indeed, it means that Camco has a live sound full house, with its own amplifiers complemented by distribution responsibilities for Nexo loudspeakers and now InnovaSON consoles.
“InnovaSON_delivers exceptional sound quality, and always has,” noted Camco managing director Reiner Sassman. “It is a superb digital mixing console in an industry where digital solutions are gaining ascendancy over traditional methods, so the timing is right for us to include a digital mixing desk in our portfolio.”
The new arrangement comes during a period when InnovaSON is working on several fronts to boost its international profile. The last 12 months have seen the inception of new offices in the US and the UK, with the latter market set to be a particular focus of activity in the near-future as Pion and team finalise plans to visit rental and broadcast companies around the country. “We are trying to spread the word as much as possible.”
Back at base in France, ongoing R&D work will result in the showing of a new output module, UM8PO, at Frankfurt ProLight+Sound later this month, while a new effects card is expected to be ready by the end of the year. Compatibility with Waves’ APA module and several Aviom ranges is also on the cards.
