IBC2007 surpasses last year’s record attendance18 September 2007
HOLLAND: IBC is claiming historic attendance levels for its 2007 exhibition, which came to an end at the Amsterdam RAI last week. The five-day event – which provided a showcase for new launches from Euphonix, Roland and Sennheiser, among many others – saw an impressive 46,964 visitors pass through the turnstiles, reports David Davies.
“IBC continues to grow in stature as a must-visit for professionals from all over the globe who are interested in the whole breadth of electronics communication,” commented IBC’s acting CEO, Michael Crimp. “We are delighted to welcome more and more visitors who are leaders in their field.”
IPTV and mobile were among the areas in which there was an increased demand for exhibition space this year, while what the organisers billed as “the world’s largest outside broadcast unit” – three trucks which interlink to provide a huge production capability for its owner, Euroscena – was a highlight of the outside exhibition area.
“It is the quality of individual delegates and the important business links they generate which is IBC’s hallmark,” concluded Crimp. “IBC would like to extend its thanks to all exhibitors and delegates. We hope to see you all again next year.”
An event strong on major audio launches included new product from Euphonix, with the latest version of its eMix management software for the System 5 series of digital audio mixing systems; Roland Systems Group’s eagerly-awaited RSS M-400 V-Mixer Live Digital Console; Solid Stage Logic’s C100 HD-S digital broadcast console; Sennheiser’s latest addition to the 3000 Series, the EM 3732 twin receiver; and ADAM Professional’s S7A Mk2 Main Monitor.
IBC2008 will again take place at the Amsterdam RAI. The conference is scheduled to open on September 11th, while the exhibition will run from September 12th to 16th.
