Harman schedules further Soundcraft Vi6 training for May 2nd15 April 2008
UK: Soundcraft distributor Harman Pro UK has announced plans for another training day for live sound engineers seeking to enhance their knowledge of the Soundcraft Vi6 digital live sound console. The company has made available a total of 20 places for the event, to be held at London live music venue KOKO on May 2nd, where two Vi6s have been installed since the beginning of last year, writes David Davies.
Two training sessions will be held on the day – one in the morning and one in the afternoon – with each catering for up to ten engineers. Each session will begin with an initial technical presentation followed by hands-on experience in smaller groups.
Those wishing to attend the training day must be professional sound engineers (freelance or permanently employed) and derive at least half of their income from live sound work. To find out more about the training day and to register for a place, click on the link below.
Amanda Chester, marketing manager at Harman Pro UK, tells PSN-e: “As the only Group-owned Harman distributor outside the USA, we see it as one of our duties to provide training services for products in the Harman stable. Obviously, other international Harman distributors do also play
that role, but we’ve made training at Potters Bar and elsewhere in the UK a key focus over the past few years, running regular BSS, dbx and Soundcraft training sessions over the last 18 months alone.
“Of course, Soundcraft training is a particularly good fit for us, as we are based in the same offices as them. The last few regular Vi6 sessions we’ve set up have been well-attended, and they’ve certainly helped to raise awareness and interest in the console – we saw a big upsurge in usage of the desk in the UK during the summer festival period following our training sessions in late spring last year, and of course we’re hoping for a similar effect this year.”
