Gez Kahan joins AMS Neve

test 2 December 2008

UK: Long-time PSNE contributor and former MI Pro editor Gez Kahan has joined AMS Neve, writes David Davies. The new role finds Kahan (pictured) overseeing worldwide marketing of AMS Neve’s range of mixing consoles, outboard, HD recording and editing systems.

He is based at the company’s head office in Burnley and reports to managing director Mark Crabtree.

A former editor of the business magazines Music Business and MI Pro, Kahan has also contributed to a wide variety of music industry/technology publications, including Pro Sound News Europe and PSNLive. In addition, he has worked as a consultant for companies including Klark Teknik/Midas, Peavey, Electro-Voice and Roland UK.

Kahan tells PSN-e: “I enjoyed being a full-time freelance journalist, but I found I was missing being a team member. I wanted to find a permanent position that allowed me to use my writing skills but also offered me a chance to add longer term value.

“The big attraction about working for AMS Neve is the quality of the products. Whether it’s post-production, studio consoles or outboard, we’re selling premium equipment to A-list clients. That means the marketing function is less a challenge to establish brand value than an opportunity to maximise it.”

Crabtree adds: “Gez Kahan’s deep experience in marketing and communications for our industry, together with his enterprise and initiative, mean he will be a great advocate for our company and it clients. Owners and users alike have always welcomed regular updates on AMS Neve products, their applications and who is using them, and Gez is here to make sure our message gets out.”
