Genelec among the audio stars at ISE 076 February 2007
HOLLAND: This year’s Integrated Systems Europe event – held at Amsterdam RAI – drew to a close last Thursday having attracted a predicted total of 16,000 visitors. Genelec and Audiotonas were among the audio companies present at a show which draws exhibitors from all areas of the AV world, writes David Davies.
For Genelec, the overriding messsage was that the company is now actively seeking to establish a pan-European presence in the custom install market. It is hoping that a recent agreement which sees T&W Marketing take on significant sales and marketing responsibilities will help to achieve this goal.
“We’re looking for the top custom installers in Europe – say the 50 best – to work with Genelec and take it into the home,” says T+W’s Wim De Vos.
Both partners are mindful of the need to be selective about their choice of associates, however, with De Vos noting that “Genelec is still a technical product”.
Elsewhere, Audiotonas was making confident predictions on behalf of its AMC loudspeaker brand. Having supplied 50,000 of its price-sensitive units for use in shops, restaurants and other public commercial spaces during 2006, the company is “planning to deliver 80,000 loudspeakers” during 2007.
Western Europe is looking set to drive further expansion, with two countries in particular appearing to be rich sources of potential. “Germany and Holland are going to be very important markets for the future,” says Audiotonas’ Algirdas Sidiskis.
On the back of very encouraging pre-registration figures of around 14,000, the busy halls and lively post-show atmosphere confirmed that the exhibition is in robust health. As ISE managing director Mike Blackman noted during the show: “The message is that this event is a sellout and business is booming.”
