Furman Sound launches European distribution centre

test 10 February 2009

US: The power management company wants to enhance its support for European customers, writes David Davies. The new distribution centre is situated in Moerdijk, approximately 60km south-west of Amsterdam – which, appropriately enough, is where the company showcased its latest pro-AV voltage regulators during ISE last week.

As the result of a third-party logistics partnership with D.S.V. Solutions B.V. (DSV), Furman has secured access to a ISO9001-certified warehouse facility. The company will be calling on DSV’s logistics expertise as it seeks to reduce turnaround times and transportation costs.

“This has been years in the making,” Furman Sound’s marketing director, John Benz (pictured), tells PSN-e. “We are looking at this as an entire regional solution that will enable us to enhance the support and services we offer our European customers.”

Meanwhile, the company has added to power management product range with the new P-1400 AR E Rack-Mount Voltage Regulator for pro-AV applications in 220V-240V regions. The P-1400 AR E provides stable voltage protection and line noise filtration for any AV installation where reliable and comprehensive protection is required.

“We now have a very extensive selection of products suitable for the European market, so are looking forward to a very exciting period of growth,” says Benz.
