First Midas PRO1 buyers named

Denmark and Poland are the first pro audio markets to invest in the newly launched Midas PRO1 digital consoles, with Poland claiming the first sale just weeks after the console premiered at InfoComm in Las Vegas.   The Stefan Jaracz Theatre, in the city of Łódź, received the first PRO1, followed quickly by Denmark’s Puk Recording Studio; one of the most successful studios in the country.   Polish distributor Audio Plus, a company which made headlines in 2008 after selling its first Midas XL8 two minutes after being appointed an official Midas distributor, handled the sale in Łódź.   “The Theatre was looking for a console for its Cameral Hall for performing arts and plays,” said project manager, Sylwester Wojcieszek. “After some deliberation the sound department chose to go with the Midas PRO1. They were impressed with the additional DL251, warm sounding effects, compressors and pre-amps.”   In Copenhagen, Midas distributor Matrix Sales announced its first PRO1 sale immediately after taking delivery of the newly launched digital consoles.   Morten Laulund Uldbæk of Matrix Sales – which supports the pro-audio, installation, touring, and rental markets in Denmark – sold a Midas PRO1 to Puk Recording Studios’ owner Peter Iversen. Clients of Puk include Elton John, George Michael and Depeche Mode.   Iversen commented: "We chose Midas for its superior sound. No other console offers the sound quality of a Midas desk. With a strong analogue heritage the move to digital has been smooth due to the fantastic sound which has been preserved.”   Midas brand development manager, Richard Ferriday added: “The fact that the PRO1 has been so enthusiastically embraced by such diverse users as these, with very different requirements from an audio console, says more about the potential for PRO1 than even I can. It just goes to prove that for recording, theatre or concert sound, there is no alternative to Midas if audio quality is the primary consideration.”
