Fender launches pro line of in-ear monitors

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC) has expanded its product offering into the in-ear monitoring market with the launch of Fender Pro In-Ear Monitors. The new product line features a patented technology, and is said to be “engineered for an immersive listening experience at every price-point”.

“The launch of the Fender in-ear monitor series is an exciting step in the expansion of our product offering,” says Jim Ninesling, VP of Fender amplifiers and pro audio.

“Fender is committed to delivering innovative products and services that accompany players at every stage of their musical experience. We believe serious players and discriminating audiophiles alike will appreciate both the design and performance of Fender IEMs, setting the stage for further additions to this new line in the future.”

Fender’s IEM range features 3D-printed Digital Hybrid Technology (DHT) housings in the higher-end models that are derived by scanning thousands of ears to create a universal fit. The DHT shells are said to fit 95% of ears like an expensive custom-moulded monitor.

In 2015 Fender acquired IEM/headphone manufacturer Aurisonics, which Fender says has allowed it to enter into this new category “with a significant advantage” thanks to Aurisonics’ technology.

Fender’s IEM series will be available in five models: the DXA1, FXA2, FXA5, FXA6 and FXA7 ranging in price from £75-£330.
