DPA Microphones necklace mic competition: The winners!8 January 2015
DPA Microphones has revealed the two winners of its d:screet necklace microphone competition’s grand prize.
The contest, which closed on 21 December, asked contestants to come up with the most creative ideas for how and where to use the mic (see DPA launches d:screet necklace mic competition). 100 runners-up each received a d:screet necklace microphone.
The winners are Eric Sanderson, the lead singer of Brooklyn indie band Augustines, and Alex Taylor, a teacher at Nexus Institute of Creative Arts in Coventry, UK, who each receive €1,000 (£784) worth of DPA equipment for their entries. Sanderson and Taylor’s video entries, in which they reveal how they use the d:screet mics for live performances in large venues and faith-based music classes, respectively, can be viewed below.
“Thank you all for your ingenuity, professionalism and humour,” says a statement from DPA. “The competition has come to an end, and we have found the best d:screet necklace microphone application ideas. Congratulations to the two grand prize winners.”
