DPA launches d:screet necklace mic competition1 September 2014
DPA Microphones is giving 100 people the chance to win its d:screet necklace microphones, launched earlier this year. The competition, running on DPA’s Facebook page and website until 28 September, asks contestants to come up with ideas for how and where to use the mic.
On 1 October, five microphones will be awarded to the most liked submissions on Facebook, while the remaining 95 will be given to the people who DPA believe to have come up with the most creative and original ideas. Those who win a DPA necklace microphone will proceed to the second phase of the competition, whereby the contestants are able to document their idea by sending the company a picture or video. On 1 November, the two best entries will win a choice of DPA microphones up to a value of €1,000 (£790).
The d:screet necklace microphone is suited to situations where mounting and consistent audio output are the primary requirements. The d:screet 4061 omnidirectional miniature capsule is housed in a rubber necklace and fastens up with a necklace catch. DPA’s CEO Christian Poulsen states that “these new microphones are clearly meeting a need because they can be mounted and removed quickly, and several times, by untrained talent without a sound expert nearby… their simplicity, audio quality and size make them ideal.”
