D&M Europe launches dedicated commercial AV and custom install division

UK: The emergence of “a more general custom and commercial install market” has prompted the formation of DMi D&M Installation (DMi for short) by D&M Europe. The new division will be dedicated to the distribution and support of products from DENON, Marantz, Escient and other D&M brands to the commercial AV and custom install markets, writes PSN-e.

The former general manager of D&M Professional Europe, Mark Perrins, is heading up the new division, the instigation of which is in large part a response to “the gradual convergence towards a more general custom and commercial install market, with common products, customers and support requirements. This has led us to the logical step of merging our existing Pro division with our CI sales operation, creating a division more clearly focused on customer requirements, with an emphasis on technical support.

“With an extensive portfolio of leading branded products for the commercial and custom install markets, our aim is to supply high-quality solutions with benchmark technical support to ensure the cross-platform protocol issues are navigated more easily.”

Speaking to PSN-e, Perrins adds that the new operation’s application of “considerable internal experience in commercial installation to the fast expanding custom install market was a must for our increasing group customer base. We are able to serve and support the market with a level of understanding and capability seen very rarely today.”

DMi’s is able to call on a portfolio of products from DENON, DENON professional, Marantz and Marantz professional, encompassing sound processors and amplifiers, LCD displays, HD projectors, network media players and more. The new division is also able to supply Escient digital music servers, Opus Technologies multi-room systems and Boston Acoustics’ wall, ceiling and outdoor speakers.

“The challenge of growing this business sector for D&M Europe is very exciting, and the benefits to all of our customers will be rapidly apparent,” notes Perrins.
