D-Show Profile number 100 pitches up at Wigwam Hire

test 20 March 2007

EUROPE: Digidesign reports that in just five months since its launch, VENUE D-Show Profile system sales have now passed the 100 mark. The 100th and 101st desks were ordered by Wigwam Hire this month – respectively for use on tours with Bj_rk and The Bratz Arena Tour, writes Dave Robinson.

“It is fitting that it should be Wigwam who have achieved this milestone, since not only did they invest in five of the larger VENUE D-Show systems last year but have already brought their tally of the more compact footprint consoles to three,” says Digidesign’s European live sound sales manager, Mike Case.

Wigwam Hire director Chris Hill (pictured) confirmed that, in fact, all five of the senior boards were presently out on tour with acts such as Lemar, Incubus (x2), Damien Rice and at a corporate show in Dubai. “But we have to keep up with customer demand, and in this instance Bj_rk’s sound engineer Kevin Pruce has specifically requested a D-Show Profile, and will be using the full 96-input capacity.”

He adds: “These desks are proving highly popular largely because sound engineers not only like the layout – with the 24-input fader provision – but also the compact footprint. Like D-Show, D-Show Profile also integrates directly with Pro Tools, which is an advantage to many of our clients who are already using Pro Tools in the studio.”
