Broadcast sales boom for Euphonix6 May 2008
US: Console manufacturer Euphonix says it is enjoying “unprecedented growth” in the international broadcast market. Strong demand for the company’s System 5-B (pictured) and Max Air systems have led the company to reveal that its international broadcast sales are now beginning to rival those generated by the US broadcast market, writes David Davies.
“2008 is already surpassing our expectations. Around the world Euphonix consoles are being installed for all types of broadcast applications such as in OB trucks for HD sporting events, television shows and even the Olympic Games, and we couldn’t be more pleased,” said Euphonix CEO Martin Kloiber.
Accordingly, the manufacturer points to a number of major sales worldwide. In the US, these have included three consoles for PBS and a 40-fader System 5-B console for Japanese broadcaster NHK’s new NYC-based HD ONB truck. Channel 1 Moscow (pictured) has installed two System 5-Bs in its control room, while Centre National de l’Audiovisuel (CNA) in Luxembourg has acquired a 24-fader System 5-BP to facilitate the broadcast of live music programmes.
Media Luso (Lisbon), Eurosport (Paris) and Chongqing TV (China) are among other major broadcast organisations to have recently invested in Euphonix consoles.
