Audio Warehouse Recording Show ‘a great success’

test 29 September 2009

IRELAND: The event was held at Peter Maher’s new Middlewalk Recording Studio in County Tipperary, reports David Davies. Held on September 2, the Recording Show included a discussion forum and an opportunity for Audio Warehouse to present its collaborations with Munro Acoustics.

Representatives of Audient, Apogee, Avid/Digidesign, Brauner, Exigy Monitors, George Massenburg Labs, Manley, sE Electronics and SSL were among those to attend the show. Guest speakers included Dirk Brauner from Brauner Microphones, recording engineer Rupert Cobb and Munro’s Chris Walls.

Hard-Fi producer Wolsey White was among the 75 in attendance, although not before a spot of travel problems that led to the short-notice chartering of a helicopter to collect him from Shannon!

Recalling some of the highlights, Audio Warehouse’s Paul Brewer tells PSN-e that Rupert Cobb "kept the whole room entertained with stories of recording artists as varied as The Hoosiers, Mary J Blige and Herbie Hancock, whilst sharing tips and tricks. [Also] Dirk Brauner, who travelled from Germany especially for the event, gave a great insight into how and why microphones sound as they do."
