Audio upgrade for Prime Focus Broadcast

London-based Prime Focus Broadcast has upgraded all seven audio suites at its Old Compton Street facility to the newest version of Avid Pro Tools 10, and HDX processing cards.   The company has also completed the upgrade of a third studio suite to full Dolby 5.1 surround sound, and purchased Surcode for Dolby E to increase Dolby layback capacity.   A series of software packages were also included in the upgrade: "New reverb and speaker emulation plugins Altiverb 7XL and Speakerphone 2 dramatically expand creative choices for our drama and shortform clients, while the purchase of Titan reconforming software has made international reversions much faster than previously possible," said Ben Hooper (pictured), head of audio for Prime Focus Broadcast UK.   Andrew Condie, head of group operations for Prime Focus Broadcast UK, added: "This series of upgrades really places us at the forefront of the industry both in terms of hardware and software. I believe this significant upgrade investment demonstrates fantastic foresight by Prime Focus, making us one of the only facilities to offer this level of cutting-edge, next-generation audio post production. The upgrades, coupled with our award winning in-house sound engineers, put Prime Focus in a tremendous position to fulfill and exceed our clients’ needs in 2013 and beyond."
