Audio-Technica and Orbital Sound to unveil new products at PLASA0721 August 2007
UK: The annual audio-visual extravaganza that is PLASA draws close once again, and among the companies preparing to roll-out new product at Earls Court between September 9th and 12th are Audio-Technica and Orbital Sound. PLASA has also recently announced details of this year’s seminar programme, writes David Davies.
By its own account, Audio-Technica is to show “a wealth” of new product at this year’s exhibition, including the new Engineered Sound Series installation microphones. The extensive range comprises 21 gooseneck, six hanging, two boundary, a lavalier and a handheld microphone, with UniGuard RFI-shielding included to enhance immunity from RF interference. The company will also be displaying the ATH-M50 monitor headphones, the Sabine Phantom Mic Rider DSP management system and the 1800 camera mount wireless system on its ‘island of serenity’ exhibition stand.
Meanwhile, the stand of manufacturer/distributor Orbital Sound – apparently set to boast a “big cat theme” – will play host to products including RockNet, a fully scaleable network solution conceived and optimised for managing audio and control data for live sound. RockNet also features a plug-in card for Yamaha’s M7CL console.
In other recent news, PLASA has revealed the seminar programme for this year’s exhibition. Among the special interest seminars likely to be of interest to PSN-e readers are a presentation by the British Entertainment Industry Radio Group (BEIRG), ‘Digital Dividend Review – the Consequences’ (Tuesday 11th). The exhibitor-led schedule, meanwhile, is set to yield a Wireless Solutions session on Wireless Control Technology (Monday 10th) and, on the following day, a Duran Audio-led presentation entitled ‘Modern Audio Loudspeaker Array Theories and Technologies’.
Full details of this year’s seminar programme can be found on the PLASA07 website.
