Ampco Flashlight Group continues expansion with acquisition of Audiopro

The Ampco Flashlight Group has acquired Amsterdam-based Audiopro Netherlands – one of Benelux’s leading suppliers of audio equipment – effective as of 31 March, reinforcing what it calls its “range of audiovisual businesses across its three divisions: sales, rental and technology”.

The Utrecht sales and rental giant took a controlling share in the rival Purple Group in July (see AFG takes controlling share in Purple Group).

Ampco Flashlight’s Peter de Fouw, who joined the company last January (see Ampco takes aim at the future), and Rolf Dijkstra of Audiopro (pictured, left) head up the merger, which will also see the company’s sales divisions consolidated at one location, resulting in “a powerful one-stop shop in the fields of light, audio and visuals”.

Since its inception in 1988, Audiopro has become one of the region’s major suppliers of d&b audiotechnik and Clear-Com systems. “Audiopro is a welcome addition to the Ampco Flashlight Group and our sales companies TM Audio Holland and Lightco Netherlands,” says Peter de Fouw. “It will enable the group to offer an even more comprehensive product portfolio, boosted technical knowhow and a significantly expand[ed] customer base.”

“With my background as engineer I can see the enormous technical and practical potential that we have created with this merger,” says Rolf Dijkstra of Audiopro. “Being embedded in the Ampco Flashlight Group we formed a platform for our crew members and ourselves for taking on more, and bigger projects further, in a wider territory.”
