Alicia Keys and Nexo play out Fantasy Event

Paul Watson 15 June 2010

Austrian production Company Fantasy Event Engineering opted for Nexo’s distinctly silver GEO T PA system for this year’s Top Of The Mountain concert, headlined by Alicia Keys in May 2010 in front of more than 16,000 people at the idyllic ski resort of Ischgl in Austria. The popular free festival is supported every year by its two promoters, Ischgl Tourist Office and Silvretta (the resort’s local cable car company), to mark the end of the ski season. Headline acts from previous years include Elton John, Anastasia, Bon Jovi and Kylie Minogue. Thirty-six GEO T boxes were used in total – two hangs of 18; and nine CD18 subs were positioned either side of the stage. The whole system was powered by German manufacturer CAMCO; 24 V6 amplifiers were used in total. Fantasy Event Engineering has used a number of NEXO systems in the past including the alpha and PS R2 series. Managing director, Hannes Knapp, is a big fan of the French manufacturer and believes that the GEO T system ticks all the boxes for this type of event. “I love the sound of any NEXO system but the GEO T is just brilliant; it produces extremely high definition sound that is both clear and crisp,” says Knapp, “it’s also lightweight and very compact, which means a much quicker set-up time and more room in the truck.” Alicia Keys’ performance lasted ninety minutes and included the hits Fallin’, Empire State of Mind and No One. www.nexo-sa.comwww.event-engineering.atwww.aliciakeys.com
