ACSP specs new theatre for Sidney Stringer Academy

UK design and installation company A.C. Special Projects (ACSP) have installed complete technical facilities for the Sidney Stringer Academy’s (SSA) new theatre in Coventry.   For the new theatre, ACSP specified lighting, video and audio technologies, installed a new Cat5 data network and integrated SSA’s existing kit into the new theatre.   On the audio side, the school’s existing KV2 audio system has been rigged in the theatre, supplemented with additional KV2 EX12 full range speakers. In addition, ACSP provided the SSA with a new Yamaha LS9 digital console.   The new multi-purpose theatre stages full productions by SSA and can be hired by local community groups and organisations.   ACSP’s Dave Cowan led the project, working closely with SSA’s head of drama, Michael Collins. It follows a very successful prior installation by ACSP in a temporary space to facilitate SSA students during the new theatre’s construction – replacing the previous building that was destroyed by fire.   Collins commented on the installation: “It was reassuring to know that we could rely on all aspects and changing developments of the installation being handled smoothly and professionally…Our students’ excellent exam results and improved performance can be directly attributed to the benefits of having the use of an expertly designed and installed system.”                          www.acspecialprojects.com
