ABTT Theatre Show to feature live performance theatre21 June 2016
For the first time, the ABTT Theatre Show, will hold a live performance theatre, packed with practical challenges where people can join for real time working technical rehearsals.
Directed by Antony Johns, eight experienced drama students will sing, dance, juggle and act their way through two days of performance as they replicate the well established disciplines that take a performance from programming, plotting and technical rehearsals through to showtime.
Held from June 22 to 23 at Alexandra Palace, the ABTT Show will include over 100 exhibitors from the fields of audio, acoustic, lighting, AV and scenic and stage engineering companies.
There will also be a range of seminars including one called ‘Advance your sound know how, choose the right loudspeakers and tune your sound system’ where people can learn how to choose the right microphones for the job, balance their speakers and programme their show with QLab 3 and a DiGiCo SD10T and the new RE from Autograph Sales, with Y-Series and V-Series loudspeakers from d&b.
Other seminars include ‘Exploring Active Acoustics’ with Matt Hildebrand from Wenger – Transcend and Dave Haydon from Outboard – TiMax, while the Association of Sound Designers will hold a discussion exploring the path from design concept to realisation. Dom Bilkey, head of sound and video at the National Theatre, Tomàs O’Connor, freelance production engineer and Steve Jones of d&b’s Application Support and Education department will explore the methods used at every stage of the design process from concept to realisation.
The PBS and the Stage Management Annual Awards will take place in the Roman Bar at 2:30pm on June 22, while the ABTT Annual Awards ceremony will take place at 6:30pm.
Pre-registration is free. Registration on the day at the venue will be £10.
